SHILLONG, APR 21: The tender for the Shillong airport expansion project has been allotted and work is expected to start very shortly, Deputy Chief Minister in-charge Transport Sniawbhalang Dhar said on Tuesday.

“The tender has been allotted for the expansion. Maybe the contractor will start the work very shortly,” Dhar told reporters when asked about the status of the project.

“Let us see. It seems the time of completion for the contractor is 18 months,” he added.

Dhar said that details of the contractor and construction plan are being sought.

“I have asked my Commissioner of Transport to communicate with them as we would like to know who the contractor is and what type of construction. Maybe in the next month we will know who the contractor is, what rate they put, and what is the time of completion,” he added.
