Shillong, Sept 18 : The Meghalaya government has intensified preparations for this year’s Cherry Blossom Festival, scheduled to be held in November.
As part of the preparations, the district administration has inspected the festival venue to assess the arrangements and infrastructure required to ensure the event runs smoothly. Particular attention is being given to traffic management, public movement and other essential facilities for visitors.
East Khasi Hills Deputy Commissioner Abhilash Baranwal, IAS, said preparations are underway and the district administration will ensure adequate security arrangements to facilitate the movement and safety of visitors.
The Cherry Blossom Festival is scheduled for November 20 and 21 at the New Shillong Highland Grounds in Mawkhanu, New Shillong, with popular artistes from outside the state expected to perform during the two-day event.
