SHILLONG, NOV 6: In a gesture of commitment to empowering the youth, Deputy Chief Minister Sniawbhalang Dhar handed over 50 laptops, valued at Rs 15 lakh, to Kiang Nangbah Government College (KNGC) in Jowai, West Jaintia Hills District.

The laptops were purchased entirely from the Deputy Chief Minister’s salary.

” This small gesture is a token of my deep commitment towards empowering our youth with tools that enhance their learning experience and prepare them for a brighter future. Education is the foundation of progress, and investing in our students is investing in the future of our State,” Dhar said while speaking at a function held at the college on Thursday.

“I firmly believe that access to technology and digital learning opportunities will help our young minds bridge knowledge gaps and compete with the best across the nation,” he added.

Dhar said that this initiative serves as a reminder that “true leadership lies in giving back and uplifting others. Together, we can build a Meghalaya that thrives on education, empowerment, and equality.”
