HYC, Riwiang Dorbar shut down factory in Nongstoin over alleged abduction of woman by non-tribal

Nongstoin, Sept 22: The Hynniewtrep Youth Council (HYC), West Khasi Hills, along with the Dorbar Shnong of Riwiang on Friday shut down the Ferro Alloy factory located at Riwiang, Nongtoiñ after allegations surfaced that a woman had been kidnapped by a non-tribal employee of the factory.

According to reports, the Dorbar Shnong had previously attempted to close the factory on September 20. However, the factory management resisted and forcefully unlock the facility.

However, on Friday, the Dorbar Shnong with the help of HYC, managed to shut down the factory.

Their primary objective is to recover the kidnapped woman and the apprehension of the accused individual.

Leaders of the HYC have issued stern warning to the factory management. They have declared that until the woman is safely recovered, and the accused is brought to justice, the factory will not be permitted to resume its operations.
