Shillong, Oct 8: The Hid Foundation, Shillong, extends its heartfelt appreciation to the Ri-Bhoi district police, led by Senior Superintendent of Police Vivekanand Singh Rathore, and the Ri-Bhoi traffic police for their commendable efforts in conducting regular checks on National Highway 6, particularly in the Nongpoh town area.

These initiatives have significantly contributed to preventing road accidents, illegal parking, drunk driving cases, and other traffic-related issues.

The Hid Foundation acknowledges the dedication and commitment of the Ri-Bhoi District Police in ensuring road safety and maintaining law and order in the region. Their tireless efforts are truly appreciated and recognized by the community.

“We are deeply concerned about the rising number of road accidents in the region, often caused by reckless driving, speeding, and irresponsible behaviour of some drivers, especially two-wheeler riders. To address this serious issue, we urge the authorities to take stringent action against drivers who violate traffic rules, particularly those who drive recklessly,” stated Jinysha D. Maiong, chief executive officer of Hid Foundation.

She added, “We also appeal to the general public to support and cooperate with the police to ensure the safe movement of everyone and safeguard lives. Together, we can make our roads safer and reduce the number of accidents,”.
