SHILLONG, SEPT 22: SP Traffic, East Khasi Hills, Hari Prasath MR on Tuesday said the police have received the legal notice served by the Khasi Students’ Union (KSU) and will respond through proper legal channels.
The KSU had on Monday served legal notices to SP (City) Shillong Dangsan Khyriem and SP Traffic Hari Prasath MR
“Yes, we have received the legal notice. At this moment it would not be appropriate to comment on its contents. Since it is a legal notice, we will reply through appropriate legal process,” Prasath said on Tuesday.
The union had demanded, within 15 days, a formal retraction and public apology with equal prominence on the same media platforms, and an undertaking to cease and desist from making any false, unverified or derogatory statements against the KSU, its members or leadership.
Refusing to go into specifics, the SP said, “There is no specific comment on contents of the letter. It is a legal process and we will approach it through legal process.”
“As a law enforcing agency, there are certain procedures to every process and this has to be approached through legal way. It won’t be appropriate to comment,” he added.
