Shillong, Feb 10: Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma on Friday inaugurated the first microbrewery cum restaurant – The Yeastern Civilisation (TYC) at Laitumkhrah in Shillong.
The restaurant cum bar will offer fresh beer to people made from local ingredients.
The Chief Minister termed the initiative as a unique project. “It is great to see that our young entrepreneurs are taking up new projects and doing things that were not done in the past.”
He said that the place would provide a unique experience to tourists, as they will enjoy tailormade craft beer made out of local ingredients like pineapples and Khasi mandarin, and other local ingredients.
Excise Minister, Kyrmen Shylla said that the new place would offer employment to local youths. “We believe in supporting the community by facilitating and involving local farmers and suppliers which will open up avenues for our State”, he said.
