Shillong, Sep 7: The Ri-Bhoi Police on Wednesday seized Rs.1.3 crores worth of Heroin and also caught an interstate drug trafficker.
The deails about the seizure was made on the official social media handle of the Meghalaya Police. Sharing the pictures of the seizure, the post read, “We are on a roll! As part of our continuous crackdown on the illicit drug trade, Ri-Bhoi Police yesterday seized Rs.1.3 crores worth of Heroin and nabbed an interstate trafficker. A resounding testament to our unwavering commitment, echoing the dream of a drug-free Meghalaya envisioned by our HCM Conrad K Sangma”.
The state police along with the narotics department are working to curb the drug menace in Meghalaya. The recent seizures made are a major breakthrough in their efforts which also serves as a warning to those involved in the illegal drug trade.
