P A Sangma Stadium Wall Damage: CM Conrad Sangma reviews report submitted by engineers and contractors

Shillong, June 23: A day after retaining wall of the P A Sangma Stadium, Tura collapsed due to heavy rain in the state, a report was on Friday submited to Chief Minister of Meghalaya, Conrad Sangma after preliminary study.

The report was submitted by the engineers and contractors. CM Conrad Sangma reviewed the report on Friday with officials of the Sports Department and PWD.

On Thursday, Conrad Sangma informed that after the reports of partial damage to the retaining wall of the P A Sangma Stadium in Tura, officials have been on the job to clear the landslide debris.

He also said that instructions were given to the Administration and the Department to conduct a thorough investigation and for the contractors to submit a report on the cause of the damage.

On Wednesday, CM Conrad Sangma conducted a review meeting with Deputy Commissioners and Departments to look into the damages that was caused by the after-effects of incessant rains including the loss of precious lives in the state.

He also checked on the measures taken by the Districts & to ensure arrangements are made in the eventuality of further heavy rains in the days to come.
