Meghalaya: Seven nursing professionals fron North East receives National Florence Nightingale Awards for 2022-23

Shillong, June 23: President Droupadi Murmu conferred the National Florence Nightingale Awards for the years 2022 and 2023 to the nursing professionals at the Rashtrapati Bhavan on Thursday.

At the event, thirty nursing professionals were awarded the prestigious award for their dedication, duty and service to the community.

From the Northeastern states, seven outstanding nursing professionals were honored with the prestigious National Florence Nightingale Awards – 2022 and 2023.

The nurses who have been honored for their outstanding contributions to healthcare, are Reliance Pyrngap from Meghalaya, Namita Kalita from Assam, Dimkhanman Hangshing from Manipur, Athodo Liggi from Arunachal Pradesh, Ambika Pradhan from Sikkim, Irom Chandrabala Devi from Manipur, and C Zopari from Mizoram.

Reliance Pyrngap from East Jaintia Hills, received the National Florence Nightingale Award for more than 35 years of service both as an ANM and LHV.

The grand ceremony was held at the Rashtrapati Bhavan on June 22, 2023.

At the event, Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare Dr Mansukh Mandaviya, Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare, Prof S P Baghel and other dignitaries were also present.

Taking to Twitter, Dr Mansukh Mandaviya wrote, “Thanking President Smt. Droupadi Murmu Ji for presenting the National Florence Nightingale Awards 2022 & 2023 to Nursing Personnel for their dedication & selfless services to the nation. Congratulations to the award winners.Their commitment towards a healthy 🇮🇳 is exemplary.”
