Guwahati, June 11: The Regional Weather Forecasting Centre, Guwahati on Sunday warned the northeastern states of very heavy rainfall, thunder and lightning.

This warning comes at a time when some parts of Northeast India are reeling under heavy rainfall.
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) said that due to strong low-level Southerly and South Westerly winds from the Bay of Bengal to Northeast India is very likely during the next few days.
IMD also said that heavy to very heavy rainfall, with thunderstorm, lightning and gusty winds is very likely to occur across the northeast region during the next five days.
