Shillong, March 31 : The Dorbar Shnong of Nongkseh on Monday inaugurated its newly constructed community hall, built with funding from the Rajya Sabha MP scheme and the Chief Minister’s Special Development Fund (CMSDF).
The inauguration ceremony was graced by Rajya Sabha MP Dr. WR Kharlukhi as the chief guest, alongside Toshan Marwein the Mylliem C&RD Block BDO, Daniel Thangkhiew the OSD to the Chief Minister, the in-charge doctor of Shastri Memorial Dispensary, local leaders from Nongkseh and Lummawbah and local residents.
Speaking at the event, Rangbah Shnong of Nongkseh, Bah Myrank Thangkhiew, expressed gratitude, stating that the village had long aspired to have a proper community hall. After years of anticipation, this vision has finally been realized through support from the MP scheme and the Chief Minister’s initiative, with key assistance from Bah Daniel Thangkhiew.
In his speech, Dr. Kharlukhi acknowledged the crucial role of Rangbah Shnongs in society, emphasizing that their service is a selfless mission carried out without financial incentives.
