SHILLONG, MAR 9: State Nodal Officer for Census Dr Pooja Pandey chaired a meeting to review the preparations for Census 2027
The self‑enumeration process will be carried out from May 1–15 and house‑to‑house listing operations from May 16 to June 14.
The meeting – which review the digital‑first exercise postponed from 2021- was attended by the deputy commissioners and principal census officers of the districts and officials of the Drectorate of Census Operations
Joint Director Subhasish Chatterjee briefed participants on timelines, training needs and inter‑departmental roles.
Pandey called the census a mammoth task involving functionaries at multiple levels and stressed that “effective coordination among all stakeholders will be essential” for completion of the census during both phases.
House‑listing operations were notified by the General Administration Department and will appear in the Gazette of Meghalaya.
Preparations for the training of census functionaries at different levels were also discussed.
