Meghalaya’s Myngken Christian High School to play in Indo-French Football Tournament in Paris

Shillong, Sept 26: The Myngken Christian High School from Bhoirymbong, Ri Bhoi, which finished as runners-up in the 63rd Subroto Cup International Football Tournament 2024 has been selected to represent India at the Indo-French Football Tournament in Paris, this November.

Joining them on this tournament is T.G. English School from Manipur, the Subroto Cup 2024 Sub Junior Champions. Both schools were selected by the Subroto Cup Society for their outstanding performances in the tournament.

The Indo-French Football Tournament, organised by the Indo-French Sports Association in collaboration with Mairie de Malakoff, aims to create a platform for young Indian football talents to shine on an international stage. The event, to be held at the Complexe Sportif Marcel-Cerdan in Paris, will feature 10 teams from India and France, offering a unique blend of competition and cultural exchange.

The winning team will receive a week of training with a professional football club, a chance to be scouted, prize money, and a trophy, making it a life-changing opportunity for these young athletes.

Meghalaya Chief Minister, Conrad K. Sangma, took to social media to congratulate Myngken Christian High School and to wish them all the best.
