Meanwhile, joint forces of the Army, Rapid Action Forces and state police, Assam Rifles undertook a Flag March in Imphal East district till Friday midnight.

There were also reports about multiple incidents of mob build-up and attempted vandalism and arson.

According to reports, a mob of about 1,000 congregated on Friday evening and also attempted arson and vandalism. A tear gas and rubber bullets were also fired to disperse the mob, in which two civilians were injured.

According to police sources, the mob also attempted to vandalise the residence of state BJP president Adhikarimayum Sharda Devi in Imphal West on midnight of Friday, but was prevented by the Army and RAF.

The crowd was later dispersed by security forces.

The violence between two communities in Manipur has taken a worse turn over the last few days, with the property of political leaders being targeted and being set on fire.

The attacks were reported a day after the home of the Union Minister RK Ranjan Singh was burnt down by a mob of 1200 which lobbed petrol bombs.
