SHILLONG, MAR 2: The Khasi Students’ Union (North Khasi Hills—Eastern Border Area) shut down an unregistered clinic at Umraling, Ri Bhoi district and handed over a man posing as a doctor over to police.

A statement issued on Monday said that KSU leaders Banjop Maring and Augustin Shadap has acted after villagers complained about a person calling himself Dr Syed Nazir Shah.

The team alleged the premises had no signboard or documents, combined treatment and cooking spaces, stored used syringes inside the room, and disposed of sharps to scrap dealers.

They said injections and drips were administered to patients who came for medicines.

“Villages and headmen should not allow such persons, especially when life and community safety are at stake,” the union said, urging local authorities to prevent similar cases. KSU shuts down unregistered clinic in Umraling, accused handed to police.
