Shillong, July 3: The Shillong Mihngi Circle of the Khasi Students’ Union (KSU) on Monday demanded the North East Institute of Ayurveda & Homeopathy (NEIAH) authority to terminate the appointment of a person from Uttar Pradesh as contractual attendant in the institute.
In a statement, President of the Circle Sonstar Nongkhlaw said that the Union had met the NEIAH authority after receiving information that the director of the institute had recently appointed one person from Uttar Pradesh as a contractual attendant.
“We have demanded the authority of the institute to immediately terminate the appointment given to the person from outside the state and to appoint local Khasi indigenous people for all contractual works in the institute,” Nongkhlaw said.
“We also warn the institute not to regularise the services of contractual workers from outside the state,” he added.
The president of the circle further warned that the union will be compelled to take stern action if the institute fails to terminate the said appointment.
