Shillong, Oct 18: Meghalaya Tourism Minister Paul Lyngdoh said on Wednesday that every day is a “Holy Day” but not just on a particular day.

This statement comes a day after Saindur Tipkur Tipkha Ehrngiew Hynniewtrep (STIEH) issued a memorandum to Tourism Minister Paul Lyngdoh objecting to the decision to conclude the Cherry Blossom Festival on Sunday.

While talking to reporters, Lyngdoh said, “everyday is holy and precious, and it is not that people become holy and faithful for a particular week or a day, and become unholy for the rest of the week.”

It must be noted that the Saindur Tipkur Tipkha Ehrngiew Hynniewtrep (STIEH) has opposed concluding the Shillong Cherry Blossom Festival on a Sunday. The festival is scheduled to happen on 17 (Friday),18 (Saturday) and 19 (Sunday) in Bhoirymbong.

Sunday’s for Christians are typically considered a day of worship.
