Contraband worth Rs. 28 lakh seized in East Khasi Hills

Shillong, Jan 5: Four trucks loaded with contraband worth ₹28 lakh were seized by BSF along the India-Bangladesh border in Lalghat BOP, East Khasi Hills on Saturday. An Indian national was also apprehended in the smuggling attempt.

The seized items included zeera, liquor, tea, fish, dry fish, soap, garlic, panipuri, blankets, and other goods intended for smuggling. The apprehended individual and confiscated goods were handed over to customs authorities for further action.
