Assam shocker: Woman allegedly murders her husband and mother-in-law, stores their body parts in refrigerator

Guwahati, Feb 20: In a shocking incident, a woman allegedly murdered her husband and mother-in-law and stored their body parts in a refrigerator in Assam’s Noonmati area.

The woman allegedly murdered her husband Amarjyoti Dey and mother-in-law Shankari Dey.

The Assam Police have recovered the chopped body parts of the mother-son duo.

According to reports, the body parts of the victims were recovered from Sohra in Meghalaya.

“Vandana Kalita, the murder accused, led the police team from Assam – to the spot at Sohra (Cherrapunji) in Meghalaya, where she and her lover, the co-accused, dumped the mother-son duo’s body parts. Vandana the accused allegedly killed her husband and mother-in-law before chopping them into pieces and then stored their body parts in a refrigerator,” said a police official.

Police said the accused dumped the bodies of the victims at Sohra three days after the murder.

“The prime accused in the case, Vandana Kalita, committed the murder along with her lover and another friend,” police said.
