Meghalaya bags 14 medals at 4th National Open Taekwondo Championship in Asansol

Shillong, Oct 23: A total of 9 Taekwondoin of the HNA Taekwondo, Shillong representing the state of Meghalaya headed by coach, Md. Razzak Sarkar participated in the 4th National Open Taekwondo Championship held on October 14-16, 2022, at Asansol, West Bengal. A total of 14 medals (Gold-4, Silver-6 and Bronze-4) were won by the Taekwondoin.

In Kyorogi (fight) Rishav Kumar Roy, Rukmi Thakuri and Vincent Saikhom bagged Gold, Ananya Nath, Ayushman Paul and Shibom Prassad bagged Silver, Abdul Maleque, Leonard Tynshain Nongspung and Ruth Rana bagged Bronze.

In Poomsae (defense and attack forms), Rukmi secured Gold and Ayushman, Leonard and Vincent bagged Silver and Ananya secured Bronze. The coach, Md. Razzak Sarkar served as a referee in the Championship and also received the Best Referee Award.
