SHILLONG, JUL 17: The Meghalaya government will bring a resolution on uranium mining in the next Assembly session slated for August, Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma said on Friday.

Addressing the media, Sangma stated that the House has to meet before August 27 to meet the constitutional requirement of a six-month gap between two sessions.

“Yes, the resolution will be coming up in the upcoming session of the Assembly, which will be held in August. August 27 is the date before which the session has to be called. So, the six months period gets over on August 27. So, during the upcoming autumn session of the Assembly, that is when the resolution will come up,” the Chief Minister said.
