Shillong, April 7: The Meghalaya Board of School Education (MBOSE) on Tuesday declared the results of the Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) Examination 2026, with an overall pass percentage of 86.84%.
Of the 48,623 candidates who appeared for the examination, 42,228 passed.
Wangal Lama of Gorkha Pathshala Higher Secondary School, Shillong, topped the state with 585 marks. Vishal Kumar of Embee Rosebud Higher Secondary School, Tura, secured the second position with 576 marks, while Prajukta Roy of Seven Set Higher Secondary School, Shillong, and Prinita Das shared the third rank with 575 marks each.

Among categories, general category students recorded the highest pass percentage, while performance among non-regular and private candidates remained significantly lower.
Girls performed marginally better than boys in several segments, particularly among Scheduled Tribe candidates.
