Shillong, Sept 29: To commemorate the 10th death anniversary of one of Meghalaya’s most revered leaders, Hoping Stone Lyngdoh (1929–2015), chief minister of Meghalaya Conrad K. Sangma on Monday released a significant biography titled “Individual and History: A Biography of Hoping Stone Lyngdoh (1929–2015)” at his residence in Shillong.
Authored by Dr. David Arnold Kharchandy, the biography chronicles the life and legacy of Hoping Stone Lyngdoh, one of Meghalaya’s most iconic and respected political leaders.
Known for his unwavering principles, simplicity, and deep connection with the people, Hoping Stone Lyngdoh served the state with distinction and earned widespread admiration for his long-standing commitment to public service.
Chief minister Conrad K. Sangma commended Dr. Kharchandy for his scholarly work and dedication in documenting the life of a leader who has left an indelible mark on the political and social fabric of Meghalaya.
He noted that this biography not only preserves the memory of a visionary statesman but also serves as an important contribution to the historiography of the state.
