Assam Govt curb power subsidy to ministers, officers

Guwahati, Feb 11: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has directed the Power Department to install prepaid meters in every government quarter, including those occupied by ministers’.

Taking to X, Sarma said that the ministers’, government officers and employees of Assam Govt enjoying heavily subsidised power will soon be over.

 

Sarma took the decision, when officials from Power Department had apprised him that very minimal amount was deducted as power usage charges from the salaries of ministers, and officials every month.
