Shillong, April 19: Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma on Wednesday inspected the ongoing upgradation, renovation and improvement of JN Sports Complex, indoor stadium and First Ground at Polo.

It may be mentioned that the government of Meghalaya has allotted Rs 34.5 crore for the renovations to the stadium. Constructed in the 1980s, the JN stadium is getting a major facelift after a span of more than 30 years.

With the ongoing renovation, the ground at the JN Stadium will return to a natural grass pitch in order to try and bring international-level football to the city. The artificial one at present has been in place for around 10 years.
