SHILLONG, OCT 29: The PHE department will begin testing and commissioning of the 300mm diameter DI gravity main under the Greater Shillong Water Supply Scheme Phase-III to Mawpat Reservoir from October 30 onwards.
Chief Engineer, PHE has informed that the stretch from Keating Road near Lady Keane College to Polo via Police Bazar and Jail Road along the PWD road, from Jail Road to Polo Tower junction along Municipal Road and from Polo Tower junction to Langkyrding along PWD Road forms the critical path of the gravity main.
In view of the high-pressure testing, the department has advised the public to stay away from the Right of Way of the pipeline along the said route during the period to avoid any unforeseen incident.
