SHILLONG, DEC 16: National People’s Party (NPP) leader and Deputy Chief Minister Sniawbhalang Dhar has expressed openness to the possibility of Mukul Sangma joining the NPP, saying “I am the happiest man if he comes to us.”

Dhar made the remarks when asked about Sangma’s possible joining, emphasizing that it’s “too early to comment” given the two-and-a-half-year gap before the elections.

Regarding Sangma’s recent statements about being asked to drop Dhar and Prestone Tynsong from the cabinet during the Congress regime, Dhar chose to focus on his respect for the senior leader.

“I respect Mukul Sangma, he is a tall and veteran leader… I don’t want to talk about the past,” he said, highlighting their friendly relations. “I am friends with him, and he is friends with me.”
