SHILLONG, APR 8: A newborn baby boy was abandoned at the Out Patient Department (OPD) gate of Ganesh Das Hospital, Lawmali, Shillong, on March 23, at 8:25 PM, according to a statement issued by the District Child Protection Unit, East Khasi Hills on Wednesday.
The child is currently under the care and protection of Lawei Baphyrnai Specialised Adoption Agency, Shillong.
The District Child Protection Officer has appealed to any person or relatives with information regarding the baby to contact the authorities within 60 days from the date of publication, failing which the child will be declared legally free for adoption as per procedure.
