MSL 5: Janepih YSCA thrash Attong Matgrik 6-0

Shillong, Apr 29: Janepih YSCA continued their dominant run in the 5th Meghalaya State League (MSL 5) with a commanding 6-0 victory over Attong Matgrik FC in Group G at Williamnagar on Wednesday.

The match saw twin hat-tricks from Rishembhalang Wanniang and Akhebor Langrin, underlining Janepih’s attacking dominance. Langrin struck early with goals in the 10th, 41st and 45th minutes, while Wanniang added his treble in the 38th, 74th and 90th minutes.

The emphatic win marked Janepih’s fourth victory in five matches, with the remaining fixture ending in a draw. Notably, they remain the only team yet to concede a goal in this edition of the league, further strengthening their position in Group G.

For Attong Matgrik, the defeat was their fourth in five outings, leaving them at the bottom of the group standings.

Meanwhile, there has been a revision in the fixture schedule. Group A matches originally slated for Friday and Saturday have been advanced to Thursday at the SSA Stadium in Shillong. Mawshun SCC will face Khimusniang SC at 1pm, followed by a clash between Nongkseh SSCC and Umkaber SC at 5pm. In Williamnagar, Balmanduri FC are scheduled to take on Maram FC at 3pm as per the original fixture.
