Aizawl, Oct 22: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to campaign for the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) ahead of the Mizoram polls.
PM Modi is likely to visit the poll-bound Northeast state on October 30.
According to reports, PM Modi is likely to campaign for the BJP candidates in Mizoram’s Mamit district.
Other senior BJP leaders who will be campaigning for the party candidates ahead of the Mizoram Polls include BJP national president JP Nadda, union ministers Rajnath Singh and Nitin Gadkari.
For the Mizoram Assembly Polls 2023, the BJP has fielded candidates in 23 out of the total 40 constituencies.
Polling for Mizoram assembly elections will be held in a single phase on November 7, and counting of votes will be held on December 3.
In the upcoming Assembly elections, a total of 8,56,868 electorates, including 4,38,925 female voters, will exercise their franchise.
Meanwhile, the filing of nominations for single-phase assembly elections in Mizoram ended on Friday with a total of 174 candidates, including 18 female candidates, filing their nominations.
It must be noted that in the last 2018 assembly polls, the MNF had bagged 26 seats and secured 37.69 per cent of the total polled votes. Later, MNF won two assembly by-elections, increasing its tally to 28.
