Shillong, March 18: The Government of Meghalaya has appointed a new set of Executive Members to the Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC), according to an official notification issued on Wednesday.
Acting on the advice of the Chief Executive Member of the GHADC, the Governor approved the appointment of 10 Members of the District Council to the Executive Committee under the provisions of the Assam and Meghalaya Autonomous District Councils Rules, 1951 (as amended).

Stevie M. Marak has been appointed as the Deputy Chief Executive Member, while Sengbath R. Marak, Cherak W. Momin, Arbinstone B. Marak, Crozier G. Momin, Heren G. Sangma, Alphonsush R. Marak, Graham Bell A. Sangma, Ashahel D. Shira and Nehru D. Sangma have been inducted as Executive Members.
The appointments are seen as an important administrative move aimed at strengthening the functioning of the GHADC, which plays a key role in governance and development in the Garo Hills region. The notification was issued by C.V.D. Diengdoh, Commissioner and Secretary to the Government of Meghalaya, District Council Affairs Department.
