Shillong, Jan 20: The Mawmluh Cherra Cements Employees Union (MCCEU) has demanded that the management of the company release the financial assistance and the first instalment of the special scheme proposed for the employees by the end of this month.

The decision was made at a meeting of the union held on Monday.

In a letter to the MCCL managing director, the MCCEU stated, “The financial assistance and the first installment of the special scheme proposed for MCCL employees should be paid by the end of January, as assured during the Joint Committee meeting held on December 16, 2024, at the Secretariat between the management, local MLAs of Sohra and Shella, and employees.”

“If no positive response or steps are taken to resolve our demand, further action will be taken in consultation with all employees,” the letter warned.
