MBOSE SSLC exams 2025 begin in Meghalaya with record 64,387 students

Shillong, Feb 10: The Meghalaya Board of School Education (MBOSE) Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) examinations for 2025 commenced today and will continue until February 25. A record 64,387 students are appearing for the exams across 164 centres, marking a significant rise from last year’s 55,191 candidates.

The exams began with the English paper today, with Mathematics or Special Mathematics scheduled as the final paper on February 25. Examination halls open at 9:30 AM, and the exams run from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM.

Of the 164 centres, 93 are in the Shillong region (Khasi-Jaintia Hills) and 71 in the Tura region (Garo Hills). This year’s candidates comprise 37,861 female and 26,526 male students categorized as Regular-I, Regular-II, private, non-regular, improvement, and compartmental candidates.

Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma conveyed best wishes, encouraging students to perform well and bring pride to the state. Education Minister Rakkam A. Sangma urged students to remain focused and disciplined, saying:

“My dear students, this is a crucial journey. Avoid distractions, dedicate yourself fully to your studies, and bring pride to your family and community.”

He also highlighted government initiatives to improve SSLC results and emphasized entering the exam hall with “confidence and prayer.”

Authorities are ensuring the smooth conduct of the exams, with MBOSE urging students to follow guidelines and be punctual. The state hopes for improved performances and higher success rates in this year’s SSLC examinations.
