Imphal, July 3: The Kuki volunteers on Sunday released five Meitei youths who were in their custody in an effort to bring peace in the violence-hit state of Manipur and sending out a message of peace.
According to the Kuki volunteers at Gwaltabi, five Meitei individuals were apprehended on Saturday afternoon at around 2:00 pm under Saikul Police Station in Saikul Sub Division in Kangpokpi district.
Reports said that the five youths, who are mechanic by profession with a few of them suspected to having links with the Arambai Tenggol.
While speaking to the media, the volunteers stated that they interrogated the youths and they revealed various sensational information during interrogation, the video of the same has been recorded.
According to the revelation made by these youths, it is said that the mastermind behind this ethinc clash is Chief Minister N. Biren Singh, and many people of the Meitei communities are also against this violence.
Quoting the five Meitei individuals, the volunteers said that N. Biren Singh is a failed Chief Minister and he has also already lost in the war.
The volunteers said that the sensational information were revealed and knowing the fact that some of them have a close link with the Meitei radical group, the Arambai Tenggol, decided to release them safe and sound, solely with an objective to send a strong message to the Meitei to end their never-ending violent upon the Kukis.
Also, the five Meitei youths expressed their gratitude to the Kuki volunteers in particular and the Kuki community as a whole for their kind gesture.
