SHILLONG, APR 11: The Jaintia National Council (JNC) Ladrymbai Circle has raised serious concerns over severe traffic congestion on Rymbai Road, causing inconvenience to commuters, students, and emergency services.
According to the president of the council Jopsing Latam, improper and reckless roadside parking during peak hours is the primary cause of the jams.
“The absence of traffic police personnel has exacerbated the issue, leading to disorder and delays in vehicular movement,” Latam said.
The organization highlighted that the situation has resulted in frequent traffic jams, affecting daily life and services.
The JNC has formally appealed to the Officer-in-Charge of Ladrymbai Police Outpost for immediate action. It has requested the deployment of at least two traffic police personnel to regulate traffic and ensure smoother flow.
“The current condition is causing daily hardship to the public, and urgent intervention is necessary to restore order and safety on the roads,” the council stated in its appeal.
The JNC expressed hope that authorities will take prompt measures to address the issue for public convenience and safety.
