Fire breaks out at Maithan Alloys in Byrnihat, no casualties

Nongpoh, July 13: A major fire broke out at Maithan Alloys Ltd. in the Lower Balian area of Byrnihat Industrial Estate in Ri Bhoi District on Saturday. Firefighters from Byrnihat and Nongpoh quickly responded, bringing the blaze under control.

The fire reportedly started at approximately 6:10 AM due to an oil leakage from a transformer

Bijoy Kumar, the shift in-charge of the factory, stated that the fire originated in Blast Furnace No.1 and rapidly engulfed a portion of the site.

The incident was promptly reported to the fire brigade. Upon arrival, the teams from Byrnihat and Nongpoh worked swiftly to extinguish the flames. Thanks to their quick action, the fire was successfully doused.

No casualties or injuries were reported during the incident.
