Daily wager rescued by police in North Garo Hills

Tura, March 31: A daily wage earner who was kidnapped by a group of criminals in North Garo Hills on Saturday night has been rescued by police today.

The victim Leeku G Momin, aged 26, was asleep in his bachelor or Nokpante house when around 7 to 8 men came after midnight and forcibly took him away.

Following the abduction report, North Garo Hills police withcsupport from CRPF teams of 120 Bn swung into action and launched a combing operation in the area.

They successfully managed to locate him from a jungle near A’brong village and brought him to safety.

“Search is currently on to nab those behind the abduction and we do not rule out personal enmity or internal rivalry between the victim and the perpetrators. Our investigation is continuing,” said Bruno A Sangma, North Garo Hills superintendent of police.
