BSF Meghalaya constructs Bamboo Bridge for Huroi village in East Jaintia Hills

Jowai, Nov 8: Understanding the genuine problems being faced by the villagers of Huroi to commute from their village to other parts for various purposes, the BSF in collaboration with civil administration has constructed a Bamboo bridge on a stream connecting village Huroi.

The bridge was jointly inaugurated by Sandeep Rawat, DIG, SHQ BSF Jowai and Abhilash Barnwal, DC East Jaintia Hills, in presence of Sanjay Sharma, Commandant, 172 Bn BSF on Tuesday.

The said bridge was very much needed for a long time by the villagers and they appreciated the initiative taken by the BSF and civil administration for construction of the bridge and have requested to construct similar bridges on other streams also, BSF said in a press statement on Tuesday.

The statement further said the BSF is trying to rope in business houses for funding such projects under CSR and has suggested various projects for upliftment of bordering populace to these business houses.
