Shillong, Feb 19: BJP national general secretary Rituraj Sinha on Sunday questioned how politicians in Meghalaya are getting richer and wealthy despite the state having the lowest per capita in the country.

He was referring to the affidavits of the UDP chief and Assembly Speaker Metbah Lyngdoh, Leader of Opposition Dr. Mukul Sangma and others.

“It is a matter of concern for the people of Meghalaya. The GDP growth is one of the slowest in the NE. In a state which has the lowest per capita in the country, a state which is running in 2000 crore of budgetary deficit, a state which is the slowest growing GDP in the NE, how are the politicians of the state so rich and wealthy, how do they get richer and wealthy after every elections,” Sinha told reporters.

“I also want to ask these politicians from where they have gathered and accumulated this money from,” he said.

He said corruption of every politician will be exposed if Modi government will be voted to power in Meghalaya.
