BJP Minister Sanbor Shullai condoles death of Zubeen Garg, hails his musical legacy

Shillong, Sept 23: Minister in-charge Animal Husbandry and Veterinary, Arts & Culture Sanbor Shullai on Tuesday met Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and condoled the untimely demise of Assam’s legendary singer Zubeen Garg.

Shullai, who is also a BJP leader and legislator from South Shillong, said Meghalaya joins Assam and the entire region in mourning this irreparable loss.

He said that Garg’s immense talent, passion and dedication to music have left an indelible mark on the country’s rich cultural heritage.

Through his music, he built bridges across our states and brought the spirit of the North East to national and global audiences.

“On behalf of the government of Meghalaya and the people of the state of Meghalaya, I extend my heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, colleagues, and innumerable admirers. His music has inspired many musicians and artists from the state of Meghalaya, who all mourn his loss,” the minister stated.

“May the Almighty grant strength to the bereaved family and eternal peace to the departed soul. May his legacy continue to inspire future generations of musicians and music lovers. May his soul rest in peace and may his family find strength and solace during this difficult time,” he added.
