TURA, July 27: The arrested BJP MDC from Tura Bernard Marak has been produced before a magistrate’s court in Hapur city of UP by police on Wednesday afternoon.
He was arrested by UP police while traveling in a taxi in the northern state and police suspect that he was trying to enter Nepal from either Varanasi or Gorakhpur to escape the lookout notice and a non bailable arrest warrant issued against him after he failed to surrender despite orders to do so after a massive raid on his farmhouse led to arrest of dozens of men and women and seizure of illegal alcohol and even a large consignment of contraceptives.
A team of Meghalaya police are intransit to take custody of the BJP MDC from UP police once the court issues its order.
