SHILLONG, SEPT 12: Laban police station came under petrol bomb attack early Saturday.
Two bombs were hurled inside the premises around 2.30 am.
A police gypsy (ML-02-0196) parked inside was partially damaged.
Two police personnel had a narrow escape in the attack
Police are examining CCTV footage that caught the moment — bombs flying over the fence, aimed at the thana and the vehicle.
“Investigation is on to nab those involved,” East Khasi Hills SP Vivek Syiem said.
The attack comes amid heightened security deployment following recent incidents of tyre burning across the city with notes demanding a stop to random arrests of members of a particular organisation.
