Also, the re-enactment of wood cutters cutting woods, people singing folk songs, women pounding rice made the building transform into a village like scenario.

A garo village is incomplete without a ” Nok A’chik”, a replica of “Nok A’chik” was also put up, where women were seen cooking “Sakin” rice cakes and some traditional food, men were seen welcoming people with “pong” which had rice beer.

Another setup was about women extracting the cotton and the traditional weaving called as “loinloom” was also shown.

Speaking to the Hub News, Norinchi G. Momin, District Research Officer said ” this Independance day we have done this live museum of Garo village, to make it look interesting so that our people especially the youths can know more about our culture, tradition, and get more knowledge about our Tribe.”

“The Musuem has many artifacts from the Garo tribe as well other tribes are found in this region. The museum is open from Monday to Friday”, she said.

The live Musuem of Garo villagers seems to be one of the finest ideas to attract not only locals but also the people outside the state to showcase the traditions and cultures of the tribes that are from this region.
