Shillong, May 26: The results for the Arts stream of Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate Examination, 2023 of Meghalaya Board of School Education (MBOSE) were declared on Friday morning. This year Larisa Lamin of Adventist Higher Secondary School, Thadlaskein in West Jaintia Hills topped the Arts stream with 450 marks.

This is the second year in a row that a school from rural Meghalaya has topped the HSSLC Arts stream, with Tura taking the top spot last year. Last year, Ramyank Nilabh Chakraborty of Don Bosco College, Tura secured the top spot with 460 marks, with letters in English, Political Science, Geography, Sociology and Economics.

This is a gradual shift from the predominantly good performance by schools based in School in East Khasi Hills, who had hogged all the lime light in the past.
