Shillong, Dec 11: Shillong is yet again set to host one of the biggest rock events in its history as legendary U.K. rock band Def Leppard will perform live at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Polo Grounds, on March 25, 2026.
The concert is part of Def Leppard’s three-city India debut tour under the Bandland on Tour series, produced and promoted by BookMyShow Live. After Shillong, the band will perform in Mumbai on March 27 and Bengaluru on March 29.
Def Leppard band comprising Joe Elliott, Phil Collen, Rick Savage, Vivian Campbell and Rick Allen has announced the tour on Instagram, calling it “a long time comin’.” The band was previously scheduled to perform in India in 2008 but cancelled the tour.
Globally recognised as one of the most influential rock bands of all time, Def Leppard has sold over 110 million albums and earned two Diamond Awards in the U.S. They are best known for their chart-topping classics from the Eighties, including “Pour Some Sugar On Me,” “Love Bites,” “Rock of Ages,” and hits from their iconic albums Hysteria and Pyromania.

The band, inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, continues to release new music, with their latest studio album Diamond Star Halos and a new album slated for release in 2026. Their recent single, “Just Like 73,” features guitarist Tom Morello.
