Shillong, Nov 18: The Meghalaya Government has launched the Meghalaya Electric Vehicle (EV) Subsidy Portal, giving a major push to the state’s clean mobility ambitions under the Meghalaya Electric Vehicle Policy, 2021.
Introduced by the Transport Department, the portal is designed to simplify and fast-track the subsidy application process for electric vehicle owners across the state.
All EV owners with vehicles registered in Meghalaya can now apply for subsidies directly through the online platform. Officials have urged eligible applicants to register at the earliest, noting that EV owners must complete their registration within three months from the launch date — November 18, 2025.
The Transport Department has also made detailed eligibility criteria and related guidelines available on its official website: www.megtransport.gov.in.
With the launch of this dedicated portal, the government expects a smoother, more transparent system for subsidy disbursement, encouraging wider EV adoption and supporting Meghalaya’s transition toward a greener, low-carbon future.
