Dibrugarh, July 23: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Wednesday announced the formation of a new entity — the Assam Innovation and Startup Foundation — aimed at strengthening the state’s startup ecosystem.
Speaking to reporters, CM Sarma said, “Under the Department of Innovation, Incubation and Startup, a Section 8 company named Assam Innovation and Startup Foundation will be formed to help startups in the state. The Cabinet has approved the decision today, and the company will be set up very soon.”
“To strengthen Assam’s startup ecosystem, we’ve decided to launch this company, which will benefit youth who want to start their own ventures,” he added.
The Cabinet’s decision authorises the formation of a dedicated Section 8 company to act as a platform for supporting, incubating, and promoting startups and entrepreneurial initiatives across Assam.
