Shillong, Oct 3: South Shillong legislator Sanbor Shullai on Thursday inaugurated and officially handed over the newly constructed Play Field cum Seating Gallery of Arya Vidyalaya Secondary School, Jhalupara Shillong.
The school was established during the year 1934.
Earlier, Sanbor Shullai informed that the Cantonment Civil Area is very congested and there is no space for children and youths to play and conduct various sports activities in this area hence, this newly constructed playfield will pave way and cater to the needs of all sports loving youths and students of the school and also the youths, students and various sports clubs of the entire Cantonment Civil Area to conduct various sports and games for promoting and upliftment of Sports activities of the entire Cantonment Civil Areas with due permission from the Authority of the Managing Committee of The School.
The programme was also attended by Ramsevak Prasad Singh, Chief Patron, Principal S. K. Singh, Vice-Principal A. K. Jha, Secretary Ravi Tiwari, all members of the Managing Committee of the School, Senior Citizen cum Social Leader B. B. Chettri, P. B. Chokhani, Bimal Bajaj, Arvind Yadav, Akash Sahni and host of dignitaries and invitees including parents, teachers and Students of the School.
