OM Roy, St Anthony’s, Shillong College overall champs at Inter School & Inter College Karate

Shillong, Aug 14: OM Roy Memorial Secondary School, St Anthony’s LP School and Shillong College were the overall champions in the 28th Inter School & 10th Inter College Karate Tournament 2022, which concluded here in Saturday.

The three-day event was held at the Laban SC Indoor Stadium and was organised by the All Meghalaya Karate-do Association. Around 300 karatekas from 45 schools and six colleges took part.

The girls’ school team champions were OM Roy, which won four gold, three silver and three bronze medals, while Kiddies Corner Secondary School were the runners-up with three gold and three bronze.

St Anthony’s claimed four gold, two silver and eight bronze medals in the boys’ school team category to take first place, followed by runners-up Providence School with four gold, two silver and four bronze.

In the college category, Shillong College came first with three gold, three silver and seven bronze, while St Edmund’s were the runners-up with three gold and one silver.

The competition was opened by Mawkhar SC President Ransom Sutnga in the presence of Meghalaya State Olympic Association General Secretary Finely L Pariat. The championship was closed by MSOA Working President John F Kharshiing in the presence of MSOA Executive Council member Dipshon Ryntathiang.

Boys Senior – Cheltis Shylla (Providence School)
Boys Junior – Eric B Ryngnga (St Anthony’s LP School)
Girls Senior – Rebeka Nongspung (Providence School)
Girls Junior – Emika D Myrthong (BK Bajoria School)
